  • An informative evening session featuring detailed video analysis of rescue scenarios, technique, and explanations by experienced instructors, trainers and coaches, Cathy Piffath and Jeff Cooper.

  • When: 7pm Friday nights at H2Outfitters’ on Orrs Island. Call 207-833-5257 to reserve your spot - an RSVP is required.

The Program

  • In the morning you will learn the Paddle Strokes and Maneuvers necessary to be successful in performing an efficient rescue. This 3-hour workshop will focus on the details to make you a better paddler regardless of your skill level. After a break for lunch, we’ll get back on the water for the Rescue session where there will lots of opportunities to get hands-on experiential practice with several diffewrent rescue techniques, being both the rescuer and rescuee. This part of the program will give you a feel for cold water, the challenges of conducting a rescue, and the realization of the strokes you’ll need to be successful. This will all take place in a protected and sheltered cove at the H2Outfitters’ touring center on Orr’s Island.
