Kids Day Camp

Get the kids outdoors this summer for a great introduction to kayaking and the coastal environment. Kids come for three hours a day, 5 days a week, giving you some time to kick back and relax too! Through games and activities, the kids learn basic kayaking skills, safety, and an appreciation for the coastal area and its inhabitants. Each day we'll explore by kayak a new area whether that be a beach, small nearby island, or tiny cove. At each new destination the kids will have the chance to discover life near the water's edge by exploring tide pools, sandy beaches, and seaweed covered rock ledges. They have fun, we have fun, and they learn a new skill!

Recommended for kids ages 8-12.

Morning Session: 9:30 am-12:30 pm (5 days)

Afternoon Session: 1:30-4:30 pm (5 days)

$295 per child per session (a session is 5 mornings OR 5 afternoons)

OR $525 for the 5 full days

If you would like to sign your child up for all five mornings and afternoons sessions, the price is $525. The advantage of doing the entire day is that the kids will experience the same beach, cove, island, etc. at both low tide and high tide. The tide, of course, changes the land and water features dramatically on our coast since we have a 9'-12' tidal range.

Please note: There is an hour break between sessions so you should pack a lunch for them or plan to have them get lunch at the cafe next door to our shop.

What we will provide

Kayaks (both kid size and adult size), spray skirts, paddles, and PFDs, safety equipment, and instructor(s)/guide(s), and some snacks. We will also provide 1-2 group dry bags in the event we need to carry items for kids that must be kept completely dry, like medications.

What kids need to bring

Bathing suit, water footwear, non-cotton clothes like nylon shorts, and synthetic tops, (or a wetsuit) a fleece top, a towel for afterwards, a complete extra set of dry clothes for afterwards, water, snacks of their own, hat with a visor, sunscreen, sunglasses with a safety strap.
