Sea Kayaking Costa Rica’s Nicoya Peninsula

Arrive on March 16; depart on March 24th

The Howler Monkey

Imagine kayaking through crystal clear water as you paddle in and around dozens of uninhabited, wilderness islands, stopping on white sandy beaches for a stretch and freshly prepared picnic lunch, feeling at peace with the natural world around you.  Tropical birds, swaying palm trees, and maybe even glimpsing local wildlife await your visit to the Curu Reserve a small nature paradise located in the Gulf of Nicoya.  We’ll spend 4 days exploring this area by kayak paddling into beautiful estuaries, along its dramatic coastline, and to its offshore islands.  But one cannot visit Costa Rica without spending time discovering its rich forested eco-system that supports a diversity of avian life and wildlife.  We’ll have two days to explore on foot one of Costa Rica’s many protected preserves staying in an eco-lodge right in the midst of it.  Wake to the sounds of nature, indulge in the delicious home-cooked local meals, and set off each day with binoculars and camera in hand to capture the activity happening under the canopy of the forest.  Waterfalls, amazing scenery, and wildlife are sure to be seen and enjoyed.  Our local naturalists will accompany us each day offering insights into the preserve and helping us spot its inhabitants. This is a lodge-based trip with simple but comfortable & clean accommodations that provide guests with a comfortable stay and a welcoming staff.  So please join us on this exciting adventure and discover for yourselves the rich culture, the bio-diverse eco-system, and its lovely people.
