Maine Coast Expedition- Section 3 E-mail

From the Eastern Boundary of Penobscot Bay to the Eastern shore of Frenchmen’s Bay

penbay3This region of the Maine Coast is known for its vertical relief, and most famously for the mountains of Mt. Desert Island, home to Acadia National Park.  Throughout our five days of paddling we will enjoy various views of Acadia’s mountains as we make our way from the abundance of islands near Stonington, cross the Eggemoggin Reach into Blue Hill Bay and finally paddle into the cold deep waters of Frenchmen’s Bay located just north of Bar Harbor.  Camping will be a combination of primitive island sites and mainland campgrounds.

Skill Level:  Intermediate paddlers only.

July 19-22, 2010

$795 per person. $100 savings if you have your own sea kayak and equipment.
