Quebec's Saguenay Fjord

If we're lucky we get calm conditions like these to paddle the 70 kilometer fjord from St. Rose du Nord to Tadoussac on the St. Lawrence

One of many mountain streams                           A perspective on the cliffs                 Looking back on where we've been

Federal law mandates that you must not approach marine life but the law apparently doesn't hold true for the curious Beluga whales who swim over to check us out.  They are particularly keen on white hulled boats.  The Belugas travel up the fjord to Baie St. Marguerite where they feed on crill and small fish.

If you look carefully you may spot the large grey seals basking on the rocky shore as we paddle down the fjord.

A favorite lunch spot is on one of the few islands in the fjord offering spectacular views both up and down the fjord from the top of the island

We can paddle close to some interesting rock formations carved out by the glaciers and enjoy discovering the intersting plants that thrive here

Mother Nature provides some fantastic moments on the fjord from the last light of day to a double rainbow or the setting sun...
